Upcoming Events

Join us for:

CCK Salons: our ongoing gatherings at the Club at Union Square Lounge with light snacks and a cash bar, mingling with like-minded faculty who are interested in everything and finding ways to work across traditional “boundaries” with colleagues.  Each Salon will also feature a short “entertainment” presentation with new funding opportunities and a summary of a recent or upcoming CCK project.

Wednesday October 15 at 4:00pm: CCK Salon in the Club at Union Square Lounge – come visit and network with your colleagues on the eve of Fall Break. Meet others interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, push further on those tentative plans you’ve already made with colleagues, and enjoy some fine academic camaraderie.  As always, bring along any interested colleagues.

Thursday December 4 at 4:30pm:  CCK Salon in the Club at Union Square Lounge. Come discuss collaboration and camaraderie as classes end for the semester and the holiday season begins.

CCK Chats: will be held at the Club at Union Square and will feature 2-3 informal presentations from different perspectives on topics that transcend disciplines, such as “Identifying Novelty,” “Good Scholarship,” “The Art of Persuasion” and such.  Each set of “presentations” will be accompanied by a Q&A/discussion session with all in attendance.

Monday November 17 at 12:00pm: CCK Chat featuring Jim Stoner and Deborah Goldgaber discussing the topic “Can (and Should) Politics Reform the University?” We will be in the “Presidents Dining Room” behind the fireplace in the Club at Union Square. Lunch is on your own.  Open to all, very informal, come to both listen and be heard.
