AI & Religion Collaborative

As AI becomes more integrated into our daily lives and creative processes, how will it reshape the way stories are told, consumed, and understood across different cultures? How have religious and cultural communities contributed to AI-driven cultural production?

This project uses cultural and digital anthropological methods to investigate the complex relationship between religion, culture, and artificial intelligence. Drawing on interdisciplinary conversations between scholars in the humanities and social sciences, we want to organize an AI and Religion Collaborative to bring together various theoretical and empirical perspectives on religion and artificial intelligence. We develop research questions that investigate the uses, understandings, narratives, and projections of the relationship between religion and AI. Our projects shed light on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on social epistemology and AI’s role in the shaping of religious, social, and political identities.
