The PHC is the governing body of the 13, national, all-women's sororities. The PHC is comprised of leaders from all affiliated PHC chapters that provides guidance, support and fosters the development of the sorority community.
Students interested in joining PHC at LSU will participate in Recruitment. In order to be eligible to participate in Recruitment, prospective members must follow the processes outlined below.
PHC Fall 25 Formal Recruitment: August 18 - August 24
Recruitment registration is open and will close August 4th. You can visit lsupanhellenic.com to learn more. Registration is required to participate, you can register using this link. There is a $150.00 registration fee. Following registration, each potential member will receive a confirmation email and a copy of the Girl Talk magazine, which provides additional recruitment details and information.
The Panhellenic Executive Council and Recruitment Counselors (called Gamma Chis) compose the recruitment team which ensure that potential members are informed and supported through the process. PHC also has an associate chapter, Sigma Alpha, who conducts their own recruitment process.
From the start of formal recruitment, potential new members (PNMs) are part of a small group of fellow potential members and are assigned a Gamma Chi. Gamma Chis are members of sororities, but during recruitment they support and guide PNMs. The Gamma Chi’s affiliation with her sorority during recruitment is confidential and each Gamma Chi has promised not to reveal her sorority affiliation; therefore, she can give unbiased advice and reduce the pressure a PNM might feel if she knew the Gamma Chi’s sorority affiliation.
Gamma Chis will explain the recruitment process, answer PNM questions, and help with problems that may arise. Potential members have daily meetings with their Gamma Chi to review the day’s activities and receive additional information.
Letters of Recommendation are not required for women interested in joining a Panhellenic sorority. However, if you have a close family member or friend who would like to submit a letter, they can find information for each organization on the Panhellenic website. Many chapters no longer accept letters of recommendation, so please check prior to submitting any letters for recommendation. Letters of recommendation will not impact your eligibility to join.

The average expenses for all PHC chapters are $1904.86* per semester not including
Room & Board if you choose to live in sorority on-campus housing. Your first semester
is typically the most expensive as there are often one-time expenses, in addition
to semester fees, associated with membership that average out to $616.29. Financial

Some chapters offer meals for a fee in their on-campus house. Many of these chapters require new members pay this fee regardless of an existing LSU Dining meal plan or plans to dine off campus.

Members in the Greek Life community are expected to uphold both chapter, council, and university policies in addition to Greek Life Standards & Safety. This includes payment of dues on time, maintaining the minimum grade point average, following the student code of conduct, aligning with anti-hazing practices, and attending educational workshops and trainings each year.

Every fraternity and sorority have their own philanthropy cause and local service partners who they support each year. Chapters host philanthropy events that include friendly competitions, fundraisers and bring awareness to important causes.
Sorority members find a sense of acceptance and belonging through friendships with sisters who share similar goals, values, and ideals. Brothers and sisters will be there to share the college experience and will stay close for years to come. Members also have the opportunity to live with other members in their chapter on Greek Row or together off-campus.
