SEC Food Fight
The SEC Food Fight takes place every Spring, pitting all schools in the conference against one another to see who can raise the most support for their campus food pantry.
In 2026, LSU made a resounding impact, with a 3rd place finish, collecting 78,380 points. LSU raised over $10,00 in donations and 68,000 individually wrapped items. Next year, we’re aiming to be SEC Champions, so donate your non-perishable goods with your favorite participating SEC Food Fight campus partner!
The highest supporting LSU department, RSO, academic college, sports team, and UREC club will each receive a trophy and recognition at the 2027 Tiger Excellence Awards for their dedication and support.
How We Score:
1 Point: Every individually wrapped donation item.
1 Point: Every $1 donated to the pantry.

Volunteer with the Food Pantry
Volunteers are vital to the food pantry allowing the pantry to remain open for extended periods and operate even during academic breaks. The pantry is available unless the university is closed. Please consider volunteering either as an individual or as an organization.
Friends of the Pantry
Students interested in giving back to the LSU community can join the Friends of the Pantry on TigerLink. This program provides a flexible, on-campus opportunity to support fellow students experiencing food insecurity while earning service hours.
Friends of the Pantry sign up for open volunteer shifts throughout the semester to assist with pantry operations including stocking shelves, organizing donations, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students. Volunteers help ensure the pantry can continue serving hundreds of LSU students each day.

Support the Pantry
Every day, the pantry serves up to 450 students and distributes 8,900 pounds of food. In the past year the pantry processed over 45,000 visits and distributed 323,196 pounds of food. Pantry use continues to increase and can only thrive through partnerships, community support, and volunteers.
Here are some ways you can support the pantry:
- Shop our Amazon Wish List. The list is up to date with some of the pantry's most wanted items.
- Make a monetary donation through the LSU Foundation.
- LSU faculty and staff can payroll deduct a donation.
- Donate items directly to the pantry. Please email the pantry to find out current needs before collecting items.
Groups wanting to host a food drive should contact the pantry to receive the Food Drive Resource Packet and to register your drive. This step will ensure the pantry receives currently needed items and that shelf space is available.
