10-01-2025 - Dr. Rafael Cueto has retired
Dear all,
We would like to inform you that Dr. Rafael Cueto has retired after years of service as the manager of the PAL and then director of the SLMBR. Dr. Cueto will still assist SLMBR users with experimental design, data interpretation and consulting on all activities performed in the SLMBR. In particular, Dr. Cueto will still provide training on all instrument for the foreseeable future.
Dr. Fabrizio Donnarumma is the current interim director until a new hire is made. In addition, Dr. Isabel Vitorino Maia will perform the majority of the tasks in the facility (from maintenance to sample preparation and data acquisition) with the help of Dominic Adrewie (Pojman group) as instrument assistant.
In an effort to increase the automation of administrative tasks as well as providing a more streamlined user logging experience, all instruments in the SLMBR have been switched from analogic (i.e. paper) logging systems to digital systems using the LSU Chemistry Core Facilities Launcher. Each instrument has this launcher installed, and its usage is intuitive. You can also read the associated manual (provided on every instrument computer). GPC samples can be logged using a dedicated form that is available on this website as well as through QR codes near the instrument.
We are also working on a backup system that will allow every user to access their data from their own workstations.
